The villa is situated on the ancient shores of Lake Sestum still the first century, was the largest lake in Tuscany.
In 1852 the Grand Duke Leopold of Lorraine II approved the draft Alessandro Manetti and the lake was drained.
In this area of Lake Sestum in 1995 was established the first Natural Protected Area of Interest Regional.
